NVLSP Honors Veteran and Senator Daniel Inouye

Veterans and service members were honored for their dedication and conscientious in taking care of our Warriors reception and fundraiser of the National Veterans Legal Services Program (NVLSP) March 2009. Two major veterans who have served our nation for a long time by public leaders honored during the event. Veterans of the Second World War, Senator Daniel Inouye, and Vietnam veteran, Governor Tom Ridge were recognized. The funds were raised to support their efforts and NVLSP availablelegal representation of military service members and veterans, and the lawyers and advocates trained to help them. ABC News commentator George Stephanopoulos was the master of ceremonies for the reception. The event follows a training session, where lawyers obtain information about service-related mental disorders, the VA Schedule for Rating Disabilities (VASRD) and other recent legal developments. A recipient of the Medal of Honor, was part of the famous U.S. Senator Inouye armies Go ForBroke 442nd Regimental Combat Team, and an award named after him will be inaugurated during the reception. Senator Inouye distinguished himself in some of the bloodiest battles of World War II, including the epic rescue of the lost battalion in U.S. Army annals as one of the most significant military battles of the century. He lost his arm to lead a rifle grenade at close range during his turn to assault heavily defended a hill in Italy. Today is the third most senior Senator Inouye...
